Customer Review: late bloomer
I am extremely happy with the coffee filter. I have known about these filters for some time and it took living overseas, where cone filters are a rarity, to convince me buy one for my personal use. The filter is easy to clean and I will probably never use a paper filter again, unless I have no other option. As much coffee as I drink, I have made a contribution to the life of one tree. I am in my late fifties, so better late than never, in switching to a permanent filter. Try it you’ll like it.
Customer Review: Much better tasting coffee, but use it with a burr grinder!
I love the taste of coffee much better using the gold filter than with paper filters (I make drip coffee in a Technivorm Moccamaster CD).
The only “catch” is that with more of the oils and flavor from the coffee coming through this filter, some very fine coffee dust comes with it. The result is some “sludge” in the bottom of the cup.
I am using a cheaper blade grinder (Cuisinart DCG-12BC Grind Central Coffee Grinder) to grind my beans, which leads to grounds of varied sized (from “dust” to “boulders”). A burr grinder (such as Baratza Maestro PLUS Conical Burr Coffee Grinder) In Black - G385) would make much more even sized grounds, and once I start using one, the sludge should go away.
Alas, I am one step closer to home coffee nirvana! Click To Buy Now…
